Here’s how to Make Your Quinceanera a Beautiful Moment

Let La Jolie MLN Make Your
Quinceanera a Beautiful Moment

Quinceanera is a time-honored celebration of young Hispanic women that takes place when a girl turns 15 and is welcomed into adulthood. The tradition began with the Aztec Indians, and today Quinceanera are celebrated throughout Hispanic communities the world over.

The gala event is often held at a banquet hall, but before the dining and dancing begin the Quinceanera and her family attend a religious ceremony where the young woman enters the church with her family, godparents and her court. These include girls (called “damas”) and boys (called chambelanes”) who share memories and do a dance number together at the celebration.

One of the most memorable moments during the Quinceanera will come when the father dances with his daughter. This usually opens the reception event so all guests are still in attendance. The song will usually be very meaningful for the dad and his daughter as she celebrates this new milestone in her life. The dance symbolizes that the father is the first man in her life.

About the Quinceanera dress

Here’s the skinny on the dress:

  • It’s NOT skinny. Quinceanera dresses were traditionally white, think princess-style wedding dress. And the preferred style is ball gown—not slinky or form-fitting.

  • About 20 years ago, there was a move to pastels: pink, lavender, pale blue, and so on.

  • The young people in the court wear dresses that are one theme and color, much like bridesmaids.

  • Today, the modern Quinceanera can choose from a host of beautiful pastels and jewel colors—breathtaking ball gowns with inlaid lace patterns, off-shoulder details, and everything a princess needs including the crown.

La Jolie MLN is ready with a full array of beautiful gowns to choose from.
