Need the perfect dress for a Military Ball?
Going to a Military Ball?
La Jolie MLN has Just The Right Gown for the Occasion.
Military families have been honoring those who serve with fancy military balls since the tradition started in 1895 after the Civil War. Attendees raise their glasses in toast to military leaders and pay tribute to those who have fallen in wars, served time as prisoners of war, and soldiers who are still missing in action (MIA). Many of these events are often held at military colleges and universities. Graduating cadets attend the balls where they hear from speakers who share their experience on how to transition to a life of service.
What’s the dress code for a military ball?
Every branch of the military—Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force—honor this happy tradition. If you are in the military, you may be required to wear your best-dress uniform. Some branches allow their women members to wear party dresses. The top brass will make that call. However, if you are a female guest or family member, it’s all about looking beautiful and “right” for the occasion.
A few pointers on proper dress:
Military personnel will wear their class A uniforms. Some women who are serving may be allowed to wear formal gowns, as allowed by their Commanding Officer (CO).
Female guests should stick to formal wear such as formal, classy gowns.
Male guests should also be prepared for formal wear in the form of a nice suit or a tuxedo.
Stick to darker colors, although a small pop of color here or there is acceptable.
Makeup and hair should be classy but do not have to be overly professional.
